Mrs. Jayanti Chavan

Mrs. Jayanti Chavan is the President of Institute of Science and Religion based at Navi Mumbai, India.

 

She graduated her BSc with honors in Mathematics in the year 1981 from Mumbai University. Received Govt. open merit scholarship from Mumbai University for two consecutive years (1978-79 and 1979–80) during graduate studies. She was a dynamic member of Physics Forum at SIES College (Mumbai) during her college days. During college’s golden jubilee celebration, she actively participated in the Science and Technology Exhibition – worked for project on Nuclear fission and fusion model. She had won Consolation Prize in the intercollegiate debate competition organized by LIONS CLUB of Chembur. Subsequently, after graduation, she worked as a software programmer with Devidayal group of companies for four years and also completed her Postgraduate in Computer Applications (MCA) from DOEAAC.

 

She worked as a computer programmer cum lecturer cum sectional-HOD of Computer Dept. at St. Xavier’s Technical Institute, Mumbai for seven years (1986-1993). She was responsible for the all round development of computer centre and courses of the institute.

 

Around this time she completed successfully the following from respective institutes.

·         “Designing Commercial Application Systems” from Computer Society of India, Bombay Chapter, 1987

·         “Unix and C” from Mafatlal Consultancy Services’ Centre for information Technology, Bombay, 1988

·         Participated in DCA Teachers’ Training Programme – sponsored by Department of Electronics, Government of India, held at Sarder Patel University, Vallabh Vidya nagar-Gujarat, India, 1988-1989.

·         “Computer Aided Graphics” from Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Bombay, 1989.

·         Participated in workshop “Relational Database Management Systems” conducted by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – Bombay, 1990.

 

During the same period she actively served the BTE(Board of Technical Education-Maharasrtra) as a member and special invitee-syllabus committee. She was responsible for development and starting of the state Government Post Graduate course “Advanced

 

Diploma in Computer Software, Systems Analysis & Applications”. She was also responsible to a large measure to the change of syllabus of Government computer courses.

She was a Paper setter, Examiner and Officer-in-charge of the Regional Assessment Centre for the Government examinations of the computer courses.

 

She has also traveled intensively within Mumbai and Pune as officer-in-charge on behalf of the BTE.   She has designed, organized and conducted special short term training technical courses in computers especially for visiting Jesuits at St. Xavier’s, and B.T.E. Govt. staffs. She was highly respected both in Government circles and the institute for the quality of her work.

 

Added by Prof. SC Mishra, Chairman, AISSQ-2007: Mrs. Chavan has received close guidance from Dr. TD Singh to promote a dialogue of the synthesis of science and spirituality.  She has extended tremendous assistance to Dr. Singh’s great vision to see a harmoniums world through the synthesis of science and spirituality. She has delivered lectures in India and abroad for a decade on practical applications of Vedic wisdom.
