Prof. A.D. Sawant, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of Mumbai,
has served at Institute of Science
as Professor of Inorganic Nuclear and Environmental Chemistry. He has a strong school of research in
nuclear chemistry and has been working in the areas of
structural chemistry, trace analysis, heavy metals, solvent neutron
activation, extraction. He has guided 25 students for the doctoral degree
of Mumbai University
and has published over 100 papers
in National and International Journals and also has contributed articles to
Encyclopedia of analytical chemistry, Cambridge
University U.K.
He was the former Joint Director,
Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra
and is associated with several
Sciences and Technology bodies as advisor and is heading several NGO’s.
He is the Joint Secretary of National Society of Friends of Trees, President,
Rose Society, and Joint Secretary for Society for Clean environment and has
large interest in integrated rural development.
